I came across an old ping ayd. it is pretty banged up so I have found a guy to refinish it with out any grinding. My question is: after he polishes it to a high shine, how long before it devolops a putina finish again?

  1. dont polish it the quality of metal will desroy dull finish . just wipe it with handy wipe  to remove grime  light coat gun oil

  2. Trust,

When I was young and stupid I polished one of my dad's old anser's....20 years later I still look at that putter and wonder why the heck I did that?? It's still as shiny as the day I polished it when I was a kid.....my advice to you is not to EVER polish a brass Ping putter, you basically ruin it.

    Good Luck!

  3. Putina is a playwright and poet of the Kannada language, I doubt that your putter head will develop that (but it would be amazing)!

It would be unusual for the head to develop PATINA. Initially copper oxide forms, replaced by cuprous and cupric sulfide, and finally by copper carbonate. The final carbonate patina is highly resistant to corrosion.

Most folks prefer the effects of copper oxide because it dulls the finish which reduces the distraction of glare when you are putting on a sunny day.

How long it will take depends on the environment in which the putter is stored.
