Pink Floyd to perform at the Olympics – London Olympics 2012
It has recently been made public by the Daily Express of London that the legendary English band Pink Floyd will be reuniting in order to put up a performance at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The band broke apart some time ago but the fans did not die and there is still high demand for Pink Floyd to get together and give a performance.
However, it was debated that such a big band would require something grand in order to celebrate the moment of coming together again. The London 2012 Olympic Games provides such an opportunity to the age old band and they can utilise it to make their mark
once again on the music scene.
The Daily Express of London was told by an alleged insider about the prospect of Pink Floyd getting back together again for the Olympics in the following manner, “It’s long been made clear it would take something very special to get Pink Floyd back together
again and it doesn’t get any bigger than the Olympics. Like Sir Paul, they have been a major part of the nation’s culture over the past 40 years and it will be very fitting that they’re involved when London is on show to the world. It’s hoped everything can
be confirmed in the coming weeks.”
The London 2012 Olympic Games will not only be unique for the Pink Floyd fans, it will also be a unique occasion for the city of London itself. It would be the third time in the city’s history that the Games would be making their way to London.
However, after having hosted the Olympic Games successfully this year, the capital of England will be the only city in the world to have the honour of staging the Olympic Games for a total of three times.
The city of London played host to the Olympic Games for the very first time in the year 1908. The second time that the international sporting event came to the capital of England it was four decades later in the year 1948. The third time in 2012, London
hopes to provide the best Olympics yet.
