Pink ball should not be a problem, feels Faisal Iqbal – Cricket News Update
The out of favour Pakistani batsman and the senior player of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Faisal-Iqbal-c56713 hopes that the pink ball will not be a problem for him in the on-going final of the Quaid e Azam Trophy 2011-12, Division One at the National Stadium,
Karachi.
The final of the premier first-class tournament of Pakistan’s domestic cricket is being held at Karachi currently and just like last season, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to experiment with a different colour ball in the final match.
Last year, the final was played between Habib Bank of Pakistan and PIA and an orange ball was used in that match.
Faisal has had a very good domestic season this year and he has scored some crucial runs to help PIA reach the final of the mega event. While speaking to
http://www.pakpassion.net/, the right handed batsman expressed that the pink ball looked good in practice and hopes that it is not going to be an issue during the match.
He further vowed to do well in the important match and wants his team to lift the prestigious trophy this time round.
Faisal said, “I haven’t played with the pink ball in a match. So, I cannot say much about it. However, it was fine during the practice sessions. InshaAllah (God-willing), I will continue to do well and help my team to victory.”
Faisal, who is the nephew of the Pakistani legend, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Miandad-c66580, came through the ranks of junior cricket in the country and represented Pakistan at the Under-16 and Under-19 level of the game. He made his debut for Pakistan in 2000 but has so far failed
to cement his place in the national team.
The right handed batsman from Karachi admitted that the final is going to be a pressure game for both teams but he is hopeful that PIA will clinch the tournament.
“There will be a lot of pressure in the final. It’s all about controlling your emotions and focusing on the game. I am sure PIA will do well and will be crowned Champions of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Division One”, he added.
