  1. Pink eye is called Conjunctivitis.  Symptoms are redness, itching, and drainage from the eye.  It is very contagious. WASH WASH WASH your hands. You need to see your doctor for an antibiotic.  There are drops and creams that will clear up the infection.  Without treatment you could cause damage to your eye.  If insurance is an issue, go to the ER, they have to treat you no matter what and sometimes will give out free sample medication.  After wards you can set up a payment plan with the billing dept.

  2. Yes, I had it in both eyes.  You need to get drops from a doctor or it will probably keep coming back if it even clears up at all.  You can't take chances when it comes to your eyes!

  3. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) can be caused by many different things.  If it is a bacterial infection it must be treated with medication or will not go away on its own.  Worse, even, is that it is HIGHLY contagious.

    Get your eyes checked pronto!!!

  4. I have  never had it, but my kids had it.  The symptoms should be gone in a couple of days if  you are using the medication.  You should stay at home until you have no more symptoms.

Pink eye, also called conjunctivitis, can show up when you least expect it, and it is very contagious. There is more than one type of pink eye, and how you treat it depends on the type. If it is bacterial you need antibiotic ointment or drops. There is no particular treatment for viral pink eye. If it is an allergy that is causing your difficulty you may need anti-inflammatory medication or antihistamines. Frequent hand washing is crucial to prevent spreading the virus or bacteria, depending on which type you have.   There is also something called CLARE, or contact lens induced acute red eye. Sleeping in contacts makes the eye more susceptible to inflammation/infection.

  5. I had it about a month ago.  It started with lots of mucus and redness and burning in one eye, then it went to the other eye.  I finally went to the doctor and they gave me a small tube of eurythromicin ointment (I think that's how you spell it).  I rubbed a very small amount across each eyelid for 10 days and it completely went away.

  6. only a few days. Ive heard it is contagious until you have been taking the medicine for 24 hours....

  7. ive had it...wikipedia should tell u

  8. it is very contagious. it can go away in 7-10 days however. proper hand washing is very important.

  9. Ya I had it, it was only for a few days, don't go around many people, you will scare them off!

  10. Go to the doc and get antibiotic drops, they will clear you up within 48 hours. Keep the bottle - you can reuse the drops if you get pink eye again before it expires, because the RX is expensive!

  11. You definitely need to get some medication to clear up the infection. You also need to throw away all your eye makeup, especially if you used it during, or right before, the infection started, or you will just re-infect your eyes.
