Pink lesion thing on my eyelid? stye?

hi!

well recently i started getting like this random crease line in the middle of my left double eyelid and its been messing up how my eye looks hahaa

so i thought it was one of those things where when you wake up your eyelid gets all weird either from a lack of sleep or something else.

but it hasnt gone away for awhile and now that i look at it, the random crease started turning pink.

so i touched it after washing my hands and it felt rough.

my friend said it might be a stye but it doesn't have that boil/pimple attribute to it.

what could it be?

and could i have gotten it from my makeup? (i dont share makeup)

should i discard of my mascara or curler?

thanks !

  1. Most pimple like things on your eye lids and sties are caused by the same thing. The glands on your eye lids get plugged, just like in acne on your face. These glands produce the oil that lubricates your tears. When they get plugged your eyes also feel bad, gritty and get red easy.

A lot of people say put cold on the stye, that only relieves the pain it does not help cure or prevent the plugged up glands.

First stop using mascara at least for a while. (one of the side effects of clearing up the blocked glands is naturally longer and thicker eyelashes).

At least twice a day follow a eye hygiene program.

Soak a washcloth in hot water, use the washcloth as a hot compress over your eyes. After about 5 minutes use the washcloth to massage your lids, the top and the bottom lid separately. You are kind of milking the glands. The use the washcloth to lightly scrub your lids.

You may need to use eye drops after this because the excess oil coming out of the glands can irritate your eyes. Use a regular eye drop or lubricant not the kind that "gets the red out" they only make things worse.

  2. you can also get something called sty relief at any drug store or walmart. it will help the sty to naturally disappear. i had a sty and i used that stuff and it worked for me.

  3. It could be a stye.  A stye is actually caused by a bacteria, an infection, and you may need antibiotics to treat it, but sometimes it will go away on its own.  Soften the stye by applying a hot, moist compress several times a day for at lease 10 minutes at a time.

Whenever you are treating a stye, be very careful and resist the urge to pop or squeeze it! Do not rub your eyes because you can easily spread the infection to your other eye - that is unless you want a matching sett.  If your stye does not go away within a week see your doctor about getting antibiotics.
