Pinkie Toe Pain not healing well

Question

If i have to have surgery to re-break a pinkie toe, would i have to have crutches and or a cast since i would need stitches?

if your pinky toe is broken, you cant do anything for it. i know someone who broke it 4 times before it completly healed.
