Now i've found the bike for £200.

I want the real low down on the bike. Is it heavy at 29.9lbs/14.2kg

Whats the derallieur like? Whats the forks like?

Im looking to use the bike for riding on bike paths on the sussex downs. (Rolling Hills) Also will be used on roads.

What you think? I'm looking for opinions, please dont just say its c**p please tell me why it is and maybe offer an alternative in that price bracket.

Thanks

  1. Hi...

I am intimately familiar with Pinnacle.

For the money you will be very hard pressed to find a better bike and it is perfectly suited to your expected needs. On road and offroad on groomed trails is where this bike is most at home.

The designer worked very hard to keep the best components possible on the bike while providing a well built frame with proprietary features. Special attention was made to conform to the unusual needs of the UK weather, like the front facing seat slot and the extra seals on the bottom bracket. In addition it has some reasonably good mechanical disc brakes and a full Shimano drivetrain which is almost unheard of in the price range.

Now, the not-so-good stuff... not for you, but for any other people from the U.S. that might answer this: The U.S. bike market tends to sell bikes for about 1/2 of what is charged in the UK... so a $200 bike in the U.S. would be about $400 (£200) there. Blame your government. So, again, for the money the Pinnacle series is an excellent choice.
