My pinky and ring finger on my left hand have a pins and needles feeling. Along with that there is a burning sensation in my palm and pain going up my arm to my elbow and on the left side of my neck, back , and chest. i am 15 years old does anyone know what this may be? Its very painful especially having this pain at such young age. Also, I had an IV put in my left hand 3 weeks ago wen i got surgery for appendicitis, do you think it could be from that?Thank You.

  1. Seems like this sensation is affecting your ulnar nerve.  This nerve comes out of the cervical spine at C8-T1.  You may have a pinched nerve or a lesion at this location.  If it gets worse or doesn't go away you should see your doctor.

  2. It sounds very much like your Ulnar nerve is being squished.  You also could have a problem with your neck from when they intubated you for surgery.  C7 I think it is is cervical spine disc 7 that may be pinching the nerve to your pinky finger.  Could even be coming from your shoulder, thats a long nerve that runs the whole length from neck to fingertip. If its from the surgery it should wear off in a week or two.  See your Doc if its bothersome.

  3. Um, are you always lying on it? That might be the cause.
