Pins and Needles in the last two fingers of my hand(little finger and next one up)?

I've obviously had pins and needles in my hands before but this is different. I've tried stretching it and flexing it but it still happens. Its more of a tingling feeling in them rather than pins and needles though. It's also a little sore on my elbow, just before the elbow bump on the side nearest to my body. It's my left arm. I got it at 2 am last night and its remained from then on. Its quite irritating too =/.

It probably has nothing to do with it but I can't wear bracelets for long because they hurt my wrist and when I was younger I had a problem with the vein inside my wrist being painful, sort of like an aching inside. Though it would go away after a little bit.

I was hoping someone would know what caused the whole tingling in the fingers mainly, and what i can do to stop it?. Oh, and It's tingling a bit on the mounds just above my wrist

  1. Sounds like either tennis elbow and/or a carpal tunnel type injury. Both of these can occur from repeating the same task. Of course you should see a doctor. I would also think that avoiding using that arm for a day or two except for a little, gentle stretching should also help.

  2. Causes of Finger numbness:The following medical conditions are some of the possible causes of Finger numbness. There are likely to be other possible causes, so ask your doctor about your symptoms.

    Finger paresthesias

    Paresthesias

    Nerve injury

    Diabetic neuropathy

    Multiple sclerosis

    Cervical spondylosis

    Peripheral vascular disease

    Alcoholic neuropathy

    Guillaine-Barre syndrome

    SACD

    Frostbite

    Leprosy

Panic attack - can get tingling or numbness in panic attacks, but usually with many other symptoms.

Cervical disk syndrome (see Neck symptoms)

  3. it's sounds like you may just have bad circulation.

i would recommend going to your doctor and seeing if there is anything he can to to fix it.

  4. Have you heard of carpal tunnel syndrome? That affects the side of the hand with the thumb. CUBITAL tunnel syndrome (ulnar nerve) affects the side of the hand with the pinkie finger. I injured my hand/wrist very slightly (I thought) opening a door that was stuck. Later that evening, the tip of my pinkie started to feel numb. Then it moved to my ring finger as well. It got so that the whole side of my hand was numb. I went to the doctor and after a test on the nerves, cubital tunnel syndrome was diagnosed. They wanted to do surgery, but I declined. It is 6 years later and I still have a bit of numbness, but it is not as bad as it was. See this site: http://www.handsurgeon.com/cubital.html

Two suggestions (besides seeing a doctor) if you think this may be your problem. 1) Vitamin B-6 is supposed to be good for your nerves and, 2) try to sleep with your arm stretched out and not curled up. If it is the ulnar nerve, this will help some. Good luck!

UPDATE:  Do a google search of Raynaud's Disease. If your fingertips are turning white as well as the tingling, this may be the issue.
