Pintura tipped to win Matthew Clark Handicap
Pintura has got the best chances of winning the Matthew Clark Handicap at Chester in England on Saturday, May 26, 2012. The winner of the class-2 event will be awarded a cash prize of £12,938.
Speed will play a crucial part in the race, as the overall distance to cover will be 7 furlongs and 2 yards. The action at Chester is scheduled to begin at 16:00 GMT and following entries have been confirmed: Eton Forever, High Standing, The Rectifier, Xilerator,
Mabait, Pintura, Louis The Pious, Grissom, Kyllachy Star, Viva Ronaldo, Imperial Djay and Hot Rod Mamma.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Kyllachy Star might not take part in the race today. He is a seasoned runner and has been in good form, but his name is likely to be withdrawn from the event.
However, the spectators at Chester will still be provided with some wonderful action of horseracing, as some quality runners are taking part in the race. One of them, who has a very good chance of winning, is Pintura.
The five-year-old gelding has got a lot of experience and will definitely make things difficult for his rivals today. He has participated in 36 events, winning six of them and finishing runner up on four occasions. Moreover, he has also secured the third
position on eight times, which shows that he has the ability to fight at the front regularly.
Importantly, the David Simcock’s trainee is in good form at the moment, as he was victorious in his previous outing. Despite not being rated as the favourite to win, he finished on top of the table by just a short head distance. He has got a very good speed,
which will help him make a strong impression in today’s race as well.
Pintura will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Stevie Donohoe, who has enjoyed a lot of success at this level, but is not known to be a consistent performer.
Other than that, Eton Forever might also manage to attract a few bets in his favour, as he is a decent performer. He has managed to win just a couple of races out of nine attempts whereas finished runner up on the same number of times. He is fully capable
of giving a tough time to Pintura.
