Question:

Pioneer DEH-P6000UB install, system remote control? ?

I'm installing a DEH-6000UB into my 06 F150, but blue/white wire coming from the H/U labeled system remote control I'm unsure of. The only wire left on the wiring harness for the truck is just blue and says it's for the power antenna. It doesn't have a power antenna unless I'm misunderstanding the meaning.

The Pioneer manual reads as such: Blue/white- Connect to system control terminal of the power amp (I don't have an amp) OR auto-antenna relay control terminal (max 300 mA 12 V DC).

I haven't been able to find a staight answer anywhere. These are the only two wires left do they need to be connected or do I just leave them hanging?

  1. Unless your F150 has the premium audio system with the factory amplifier/subwoofer, then you don't need to connect the blue/white wire to anything.  The system remote wire simply has voltage on it whenever the Pioneer deck is switched on.  It's used to activate other devices (like external power amps) that you want to switch on and off with the deck.

If your truck doesn't have a power antenna, then the blue wire in the harness also isn't needed.  Just tape it off and leave it disconnected.  The same adapter harness is used for other car models, which is why the wire is there.
