Piotr Gadomski and Artem Smirnov succeed to the next round – Szczecin Challenger 2012 
Piotr Gadomski stuns Alexander Ward 7-5, 7-6(4)
Right-hander local contestant, Piotr Gadomski, gave a shocker to the British, Alexander Ward, in the second qualifying round of the Szczecin Challenger 2012 held at Poland. The Pole jolted down his 7-5, 7-6(4)
triumph on Saturday.
The 21-year-old Gadomski displayed his excellent run of from since the start of the opener and detained his first serve. The Brit broke his opponents serve in the sixth game and marked his 4-3 lead. Both players
struggled hard to clinch the front in the series and evened out the scores to 5-all towards the end. However, Ward considerably dropped his pace, stamping a 5-7 set loss.
The next set proved to be a challenging encounter between the two competitors. The world number 411, Ward, drew the first blood and broke the Polish professional’s serve in the third game. However, Gadomski immediately
backfired at his rival to even out the score line to 2-all.  Both competitors desperately struggled to rally past one another. This resulted in a tiebreaker round and the Pole emerged to the surface as a shocking winner, with a 7-6(4) victory.  
Artem Smirnov defeats Ricardo Rodriguez 6-1, 7-6(1)
Ranked 468th in the ATP World Tour Rankings, Ricardo Rodriguez received a straight-set shocker at the hands of the Ukrainian professional, Artem Smirnov, in the second qualifying round
of the Szczecin Challenger. Smirnov summed up his 6-1, 7-6(1) victory on the eve of Saturday.
The 24-year-old, Smirnov, held his initial serve in the opener and confidently ticked the score board to 1-0. He successfully continued his lead and sustained his high pace throughout the set. He broke Rodriguez’s
serve in the fourth game and eventually in the sixth game. He continued his journey to the end without facing a single obstacle and wrapped up the set by a 6-1 score.
In the next set, the Venezuelan professional accelerated his pace and proved to be tough rival for right-hander, Smirnov.  He broke his challenger’s initial serve and boldly clinched the initial three games,
marking 3-love lead. The Ukrainian struggled hard to regain his former spot and busted Rodriguez’s serve in the ninth game. From this point on wards, he nudged forward and dominated the game, concluding the match with his 7-6(1) win.
Rodriguez had a higher initial serve precision but he could not pocket away the win as he could only secure 29 of 51 first serve points. His rival manifested 63 percent serve presentation, with 33 of 40 points.
