The Sevilla midfielder, Trochowski, is deeply disappointed with the news that he has to go through ankle surgery operation and get ready for the prospects of staying on the sidelines for a while.
The Polish-born German midfielder received the injury in his team’s 3-2 defeat against Barcelona in the Spanish League.
He was substituted before the first-half finished but did not expect that he would need surgery.
His team, Sevilla, have had mixed fortunes since the start of the season. In the first five fixtures of La Liga, they managed to win three and draw two.
One of the first five games included a home match victory against Real Madrid, in which Trochowski scored the goal for Sevilla in just 69 seconds.
Since then, Sevilla have not been performing well. Lack of consistency is what is costing them at the moment.
They recorded their first back to back defeats in La Liga this season after they lost 3-2 to current Spanish League leaders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and then again lost 2-0 away to Celta Vigo.
Los Rojiblancos' current run of poor results led the coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453, to denounce the performances of the team, especially against the less renowned outfits.
The German international has now heard the news that he is going to need surgery. This news is not going down well with him as he was not expecting his knee injury to be this bad.
"I am not happy because I did not expect the injury to be so bad," he told Sevilla TV.
He admitted that he was not making any headway with his knee injury and in the end he had to do the inevitable, which was to face the reality on the ground and go ahead with the surgery
"Things were not improving and in the end we decided this had to be done and now I know that it is worse than first thought,” he admitted.
Finally, the midfielder admits that he doesn’t know when he can come back to kicking the ball again and said that he has to wait until after the surgery.
"I cannot say how long I will be out for. We will have to speak to the specialist and wait until after the operation to know more."
Sevilla would be hoping to avoid three consecutive La Liga defeats when they host Mallorca on Monday, October 22.
