Piotr Wilczewski: I will win whether it is through points or via knockout – Boxing news
The current European Boxing Union Champion Piotr Wilczewski has claimed he will win against the former World Boxing Association’s International super middleweight titleholder James DeGale on September 17, 2011.
The 32-year-old Polish combatant Wilczewski, who is set to defend his European Boxing Union’s title against James ‘The Chunky’ DeGale with a still-to-be-decided venue in London, told the media he has no plans to leave London without his titles.
Wilczewski, who has won 29 of his 30 professional fights including 10 by the way of a knockout, is coming to London for the first time ever. Therefore, he believes this fight is very important for him as he thinks it will make him a star.
The Wilk, Wilczewski, also reckons his win over Nottingham’s pugilist James DeGale will get him a world title shot.
“I am coming to London with my belts and I want to leave London with my belts. I am not here to give them away. It's my first time in England and I hope that this fight will make my name bigger outside of Poland and give me the opportunity to fight for a
world title,” Piotr Wilczewski said.
In the end, Wilczewski claimed he will win against DeGale in any case whether it is via knockout or through points. Wilk added there will be more Polish fans in the Arena than the English, as he believes there are more Polish people in England than in Poland.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I will win, but whether it's on points or via a knockout, it's too early to say. There will be a lot Polish fans there. This fight will be advertised in Poland and to the Polish community here in London.”
James DeGale recently lost to George Groves via split points’ decision and this is a comeback fight for him. Therefore, it is fair to say it will be an explosive bout between both boxers.
However let’s see if Wilczewski can really shrug off the desperate James DeGale on the fight night.
