Do you think people who buys pirated cd's, software etc. should be captured and put in jail?

Should we vote for the government to make new laws about p****y?

Should the police capture not only the syndicates behind p****y but the buyers as well?

Please leave a comment or your own thoughts and ideas to help prevent p****y around the world.

The business of any industries aren't making not enough profit for their work.

p****y is no different from stealing, and stealing is a crime.

Would you buy a stolen car?

(Don't say yes if you don't know if it's stolen, be serious please.)

Thank you for your ideas and thoughts.

We really appreciate it.

  1. LONDON (Reuters) - These were the top grossing films at the UK box office in 2007, according to Screen International, arranged by film/distributor/release date/gross takings:

    1. Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix/Warner Bros/July 13/took 49.42 million pounds. 2. Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End/Walt Disney SMPI/May 25/took 42.23 million. 3. Shrek The Third/Paramount Pictures Int'l/June 29/ 38.62 million 4. The Simpsons Movie/20th Fox/July 27/ 38.54 million. 5. Spider-man 3/Sony Pictures Releasing Int'l/May 4/ 33.54 million. 6. Ratatouille/Walt Disney SMPI/October 12/ 24.71 million. 7. Transformers/Paramount Pictures Int'l/July 27/ 22.86 million. 8. The Bourne Ultimatum/Universal Pictures Int'l/August 17/ 23.70 million. 9. Mr Bean's Holiday/Universal Pictures Int'l/March 30/ 22.14 million. 10. Hot Fuzz/Universal Pictures Int'l/February 14/ 21.0 million.

Not exactly bankrupt are the studios, and this is just the UK.What would the takings be in America?

  2. Where did they come up with the term 'p****y.' One conjures up the image of ships and swashbucklers with cutlasses.  Nothing could be further from the act of copyright infringement.

I remember in the 1960s, the Music industry said that the spread of tape recorders would ruin the music industry.  But it survived and evolved by making better products that are more difficult to copy.

It's tough for law enforcement to get excited about a non-violent crime in which the owner is not actually deprived of anything but a theoretical future profit.  You know that you can't even get a cop to take a report on a purse snatching anymore.  You have to call it in to an automated voice system.

I would agree that depriving an artist of potential income by making unauthorized copying is wrong.  It is a tort.  The remedy for a tort, is monetary damages.  Unless it involves many thousands of copies being sold at a huge profit by organized gangs, the police have bigger fish to fry..

  3. are you for real, have you never comitted a crime, cd & dvd company's are ripping us off

  4. If you attack the buyers you may find more people than you can deal with which could lead to riots and strong anti government feeling. As for p****y, it really depends. If you over price your stuff like Microsoft does and use your status as an industrial heavyweight to bully small companies that have better talent then sure you will get ur stuff ripped off. Mostly its the prices, companies like Microsoft deserve it because the price of the Windows, market share dont justify the price. Results in p****y

  5. Are you serious?  You want jail time for someone who buys a "Bambi" dvd for their kid, and Disney doesn't get it's cut?

    .

Think for a moment about the idea of free markets.  If a "pirate" can capture an image, record it, distribute it, retail it (paying for the basic materials, the transport cost, the salesmans commission) and still make a profit on five dollars, and Paramount is charging 30 dollars for the exact same thing - who is the criminal?

  6. why as if you don't waste enough money.  don't knock the hustle.  if you don't like it, find a new profession where it actually takes brains and not just light skinned "pretty" people with no talent!

  7. No.  What you are asking (namely should buyers be prosecuted) leads to entrapment charges.  It is pretty much the same with drug dealers in that they cannot name the people they sell drugs too, because it is entrapment.  Short of raiding people's homes and finding ripped off copies of CDs/DVDs it would be difficult to catch some-one in the act of buying them.  As for stolen goods such as the car you mention, a person is not likely to get prosecuted for buying a stolen car.  If the thief or the thief's fence has the documentation then the car will have being brought in good faith and good faith could be argue when it comes to buying any stolen property.  People who are most likely to get prosecuted for receiving stolen goods are known crimmials accepting such goods as payment for something IE drugs.  Stick to prosecution of the dealers in pirate/stolen goods.  As for internet downloads, find out who put it on the net and prosecute those people.  Do bear in mind that some downloads are free and legal, it can be rather difficult for a person using the net to know what's what.

    I live in the UK.

  8. Jail seems a bit harsh. I think it is wrong, however, to download music without paying for it. Musicians work hard to write and record that music, just to have it taken illegally. Its not the record label that suffers, it is the artist. I download legally, and will continue to do so, as a musician myself.
