Piranah Magic has the right spell for a win at Kinsley
When they race well, greyhounds can seem like magical creatures. They glide down the track, silently working their magic that will lead them to a possible victory.
Piranah Magic (4-1) cast a spell on the competition in the 462m A4 race at Kinsley Greyhound Stadium on Tuesday evening. He moved quickly away from the rest of the pack, and eventually
led near the line en route to a 28.27 second finish that earned him first place.
Also finishing in 28.27 was A Shade High (7-2), who was just a shoulder’s length away from the top spot. Must Be Kay (5-1) finished the race in 28.63 to lock up third place. She was 4½
lengths behind A Shade High.
Hazelbank Hunt (3-1) placed fourth in 28.67, which was a ½ length out of third place. British Empire, the 5-2 favourite, disappointed everyone with a fifth-place finish. He was a shoulder
behind fourth place with a time of 28.68. The number six spot went to Knysa Stevie, the 9-2 long shot. His clear run was not enough for a win, as he finished two lengths out of fifth place in 28.84. Still, with the first two dogs, and the third and fourth
so close together it was a highly competitive race.
The A6 race that followed was won by Aughnahoe Buck (7-2), who moved quickly away from the pack and always led. His finish of 28.47 gave him the victory. The favourite in this race was
Victory Song, who was staked at 9-4 odds. He didn’t have the lyrics for a win, but he did finish in second place with a time of 28.61. This placed him 1¾ lengths behind the winner.
Braemor Barrio (4-1) closed out the top three with a third-place finish in 28.75. He was 1¾ lengths behind Victory Song. Fourth place went to Jamstreet Hobo (7-2) in 28.75. He missed out
on third place by only a shoulder’s length.
A clear run landed Bend Ahead (3-1) in fifth place. His finishing time of 28.83 was a single length behind Jamstreet Hobo. Push Molly (5-1) failed in her attempt to push out a first-place
finish, moving slowly away from the pack early on. She completed the race in 29.09, which was 3¼ lengths out of fifth place.
The magic of greyhound racing returns to Kinsley Greyhound Stadium on Friday evening with an exciting 13-race card lined up. The first race of the evening gets under way at 19:35.
