Question:

Pirates and Religion?

First off, I want to say I am not talking about FSM.

I was wondering if pirates, as a whole, were religious/spiritual?

More specifically, pirates during the Early Modern Period.

I know, I know... there were lots of pirates throughout history and, of course, it would come down to the individual. I just mean on the whole, with no specific individual in mind.

  1. p****y is a form of organized crime and a lot of organized crime is very ritualistic.  So they were probably for most part very spiritual and a lot of them were probably religious to some degree.

  2. Back 200 hundred years ago every one was superstitious and for the most part religious.

  3. Not religious, but very superstitious.

  4. more Sectarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrian    troubles.

  5. superstition was the religion......and a major weakness...I wouldn't mind getting attacked by a pirate if I knew he was superstitious.

  6. probably not religious. I mean its not like just anyone decided they wanted to become an outcast, criminal and theif. And even if they did they would most likely be slayed by the hand of a pirate. Pirates were just fighters and thieves. Thats pretty much it

  7. Yahoo sucks. Pass it on.

  8. p****y IS WHAT??/ ARMED ROBBERY AND MURDER ON TEH HIGH SEAS??/
