Pirelli test sessions and evaluation in Abu Dhabi come to an end

2 days of testing in Abu Dhabi from Friday to Saturday finally came to an end after the drivers ran a number of tests in order to ensure that Pirelli, the lone tyre suppliers for the 2011 season come up with the best possible package for the coming season.
Most of the drivers and teams were happy with Pirelli’s job up until now but they believe that Pirelli have more potential and they will have to improve even more in the coming sessions. Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher were the two highlights of the
sessions and it seems that Michael Schumacher is finally getting a grip on his Mercedes.
Michael stated that he is expecting much better results next season because the problem he was having with the 2010 Bridgestone tyres is not going to be a problem in 2011 anymore. After taking a look at his performance and results, it seems that the seven
time world champion is going to be one of the top competitors and Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren might have to keep an eye out for Mercedes before its too late.
On the other hand, some of the drivers believe that the package Pirelli has come up with should not be considered as a final product and the tyre suppliers will have to work extremely hard to please all the teams and drivers.
However, Pirelli was relatively satisfied with its work and they proceeded to work until Monday before leaving Abu Dhabi recently. The lone tyre suppliers will run a bundle of tests in the end of December but these tests will be carried out by Pirelli’s
test driver Pedro de la Rosa. The teams however, will get a chance to test their final product in February before the 2011 season begins.
After a dramatic and unpredictable 2010 season, Pirelli will have to top Bridgestone in every way and it will not be as easy as it seems. Formula 1 is one of the most technical sports in the world and in order to fulfil the teams’ requirements, Pirelli will
have to work alongside its test drivers and teams and provide Formula 1 with a unique experience.
