Well, my neighbor (who doesnt live there, but owns the house for storage) has a pool or should I was "swamp" in his backyard.. Our backyards are connected except for a fence, and his pool is INFESTED with frogs and toads.. We put up with it for 12 years now, but it get worse and worse each year.. Its now to the point where OUR backyard is getting infested with frogs, we have to watch every step we take so we dont step on one. They are also VERY VERY loud at night. We used to just kill em off with pellet guns, but now theres waaaaayy too many of them.. We live in a great neighborhood with amazingly nice people, but how can we enjoy it when these frogs are startingto move out house to house. What can we as a neighborhood or just my family do to stop this? The neighbor on the other side calls the city every year, but they do not do anything about it. The pool smells like sewage and the water is literaly black.. He says its there because its nice for the frogs. What can I do?!?!

  1. Move

  2. If I was you I would try contacting a local health department agency and explain that this situation is having an affect on your day to day life as well as healthy safety, because this could create a big mesquite problem that might cause problems for the neighborhood.Or you could try talking to this as civilized adults if they will cooperate with you.

  3. Release a bunch of frog-eating snakes and turtles.

What you cannot do, legally, is put anything into your neighbor's pool.

  4. throw chlorine pellets in there

it should slowly start to help

  5. try the bylaw officer first

then try the local health dept(mosquito harbourage west nile virus)

then try the ministry of enviroment

  6. CALL IN THE HUMANE SOCIETY AND THE HEALTH DEPT.

  7. Just goes to show how different people are.  We have a pond on our property.  We open the windows, so we can hear the frogs BETTER...we love them.

You need to call the health department.  The mosquitos pose a health threat.  The health department should do something about it.

A five gallon jug of vegtable oil dumped in will cover the surface of the pool.  It will make it so nothing in the pond can breath...no oxygen exchange between the water, and the air.  When the insects die, the frogs and toads will go elsewhere.

(Please use vetgable oil, so you will not kill any cat, or dog that drinks out of the pond)

  8. Slap that queen!

  9. Call the Health Dept.  The water probably has a lot more than just frogs in it.  Mosquitoes love it and carry tons of diseases.

  10. Drano

    Bleach

    Vinegar

Pour them into the pool.  The problem will go away very soon.

Run as fast as you can soon after you pour the ingredients in the pool.  They will create a toxic fume.

    My 2 cents.
