The Borussia Dortmund defender has expressed his disappointment on conceding a late goal against Manchester City in the Champions League.
The Borussians lost the chance of securing all three points from the game against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League at the Etihad Stadium. The match ended 1-1, but the German outfit deserved to win the fixture considering
the sensational chances they had to take their lead.
The defender claimed that his side dropped two points in the game as they had every chance of winning the battle against the English champions. The player insisted that the Black Yellows had some amazing chances throughout the
course of the game, but it was the heroics of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699 which saved the home side’s blushes.
“It would be fair to say that this was two points dropped. We had so many chances to score, apart from the one we got. Unfortunately it wasn't enough. City had their fair share of scoring opportunities as well of course, but overall
we had more of the game,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 international stressed that Dortmund dominated the proceedings in the fixture and had every chance of ending with three points. He lamented missed opportunities, but is impressed with his team’s display in the crucial
away game.
Piszczek stated that his side was unlucky as the penalty decision given was also controversial. He admitted that the team will have to be consistent in their remaining games to make their place in the later stages of the competition.
“We gave them very little space and relatively few chances on goal. They obviously have incredible quality up front, but we were more focused throughout. Unfortunately a penalty cost us the win in the end. That's just how it goes
sometimes in football,” he concluded.
Borussia Dortmund have been drawn in the ‘Group of Death’ with the likes of Real Madrid, Ajax Amsterdam and Manchester City. The team is currently in second place behind the Spanish champions with four points from the first two
games played. They earlier won their game against Ajax at home.
