  1. You can try pure aloe vera gel on it.

  2. If the dog has allergies, Pedigree is not the food for her.  Try California Naturals-it's formulated for dogs with allergies, and made by the same company that makes Innova and Evo.  California Naturals has only 3 main ingredients, which means it's very unlikely your dog will have a reaction to the food (provided she's not allergic to one of those three ingredients). It's worked wonders for my dogs with allergies.

  3. It's most likely food related- what food do you have her on?

Edit:  Yup- that'll do it.  90% of the dogs I see with hotspots or other skin problems/allergies are eating Pedigree.  Your vet will try to sell you Science Diet, which is just as bad.  My first suggestion would be to try Innova EVO.  It's by far the best food for dogs with allergies.  It's all-natural, grain-free, and just all around one of the best dog foods on the market.  Other brands to look for are Orijens, Before Grains, Merrick, Artemis, Wellness, Chicken Soup, Solid Gold, Eagle Pack, Canidae; or you can try raw food brands like Primal, Bravo, Nature's Variety, Nature's Logic, etc.

Brands to avoid, in addition to Pedigree and Hills Science Diet, are: Purina, Alpo, Kibbles N Bits, Ol Roy, Royal Canin, Beneful, anything you can buy in a supermarket.

As a temporary relief you can buy shampoo with tea tree oil in it and give her a good long soak in that, she'll feel much better, but you HAVE to change her food immediately to fix the hot spots and allergies.

  4. My pit has had issues since she was a pup as well.  Our vet told us to stay away from chicken by-products and possibly corn by-products. not sure if that's what you should do but maybe try a lamb and rice, and definetly not the cheapest kind of dog food.  good luck with your pit.

  5. I give my pit a fish oil capsule every morning along with a vitamin E

    Her coat glistens
