Pitbulls and coloring?

Question

Frequently, I see people making references to pitbulls only "being a sandy color", or calling a sandy colored dog a pitbull mix, because they are "the color of a pitbull".

I wasn't aware that people were so misinformed about even the COLOR of a pitbull.

Has anyone else noticed this? What are some other assinine myths you've heard about pitbulls, other than "swelling brains", "lock-jaw", etc.

i hate when people try to argue with me on the street, that my "thin, little dogs" can't possible pe pits, cause they aren't blue, fat and 12 inches tall with a 59 inch head.

yes, my lean, tiny little dogs with natural ears, who aren't red, or blue are in fact pibbles.

(they are half colby, 2 are, and are fawn and white, and brindle and white, and are small, just the way old man colby liked).

Coming from my relatives at a family reunion, " They can be the best family pets and then something in their heads snap and they turn on you without warning." They tried "warning" me of this after they seen my 4 yr son lying with my dog in the shade. The same aunt who said this to me has a Toy Poodle. Guess who's untrained dog bit one of the kids that very same day? Not my "vicious" ABPT, but her cute little "harmless" Poodle.

Probably that they are born blood-thirsty

or that if you feed them raw meat and nails it makes them vicious

The worst I have heard is that my two American Bulldogs are Pit bulls. I have known some real sweet Pitties and hate that people freak out over a large, muscular dog. I trust a Pittie over some of the small ankle biter dogs any day!
