Pitcher Jeff Francis all set to return to Colorado Rockies - MLB Update

After much speculation, Jeff Francis re-signed with the Colorado Rockies at the Nashville, Tennessee Winter Meetings. The left-handed pitcher has played seven of his eight Major League seasons with the Colorado ball club.
The deal will be finalised after the results of Jeff’s physical. The Rockies have so far not confirmed the deal but it is expected to go through soon. It is speculated to be a one-year contract. Jeff himself is delighted to be back. He had earlier said that
he liked it with the Rockies and has a lot of fun in the club.
"This is where I've spent 90 percent of my career," Francis said. "For me there would be no better place to have a winning team."
Francis was confident that the Rockies can rebound from the worst ever 64-98 season record for the franchise in 2012. He admitted that the team failed badly during the regular season and has the ability to make a comeback.
"Everybody in here is capable of better things. We all know that, and we all think that. We lost a lot of games and got on some bad runs where we lost a lot of games in a row, and I think we can do a few things to make ourselves better," he said.
Jeff posted a 6-7 losing record in 2012 regular season, with an ERA of 5.58 in 24 starts. He has a career 67-73 win-loss record with a 4.86 ERA. The 6ft 5in pitcher made his Major League debut in 2004 for the Rockies.
Francis also said that he gives it his all in every season. He is always looking to get the job done and does not hold back. "I go into every year knowing I've worked my hardest to get myself in the best possible position to succeed. If my arm has a few
extra miles in it, that's good. I'm always working on that," he said.
Jeff Francis is an experienced pitcher and knows the conditions at Coors Field well. With his experience, he can prove to be a good signing by the Rockies and fill the seat of the senior pitcher to lead the pack.
