Pittsburgh Penguins' Sidney Crosby could be back Sunday -NHL Update
Seeing how Pittsburgh has been undefeatable in these past matchups, the anticipation for the return of Sidney Crosby to the Penguins team continues to build and has risen even more with the news he might be back as soon as this upcoming Sunday, March 11,
2012.
Penguins will be facing the defending Stanley Cup champions, Boston Bruins, on Sunday and having Sidney Crosby back on the line-up could mean all the difference for them. Getting another two points might not only be the need of the moment but getting the
ninth straight win would certainly have a significant affect.
Recently being cleared for contact, Crosby entered into a new stage in the process of his recovery from a season ending concussion and newly discovered neck injury, but saying for sure he will be back on Sunday is not a possibility at the moment.
Crosby is practicing with the team nowadays, but confirming his status for Sunday will most likely come a day before the actual match is to take place.
"It went pretty good, but we haven't practiced a lot," Crosby said. "A couple of morning skates and (working) with two guys yesterday (Thursday). … I probably haven't been as tested as much as I would like."
Getting back on the ice when Pittsburgh will be needing him the most is what Crosby plans on doing and instead of rushing it to further worsen the situation, taking it slow and easy has always been his plan.
"(You) just kind of see how the day goes, and everything's been good but, like I said, I don't feel like I've tested it a ton," Crosby said. "That (his return date) will be something we talk about, and figure out, and see what makes sense. But before all
those conversations, you've got to make sure you get through it -- that's No. 1."
Pittsburgh is definitely one of the leading teams when it comes to talking about potential Stanley Cup winners this year and having him on the line-up ready to go will only boost those claims.
Further developments on Sidney Crosby’s status for Sunday can be expected on Saturday.
