Pittsburgh Penguins' Sidney Crosby tired, healthy and excited -NHL Match Update
Sidney Crosby certainly sent chills down everyone’s spine after his four point performance during his 2011-2012 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season debut after a 10-month long rest due to a severe concussion sustained earlier in January of 2011,
but even though he is tired after a fresh workout, the 24-year-old is healthy and excited.
"Obviously, it's been a long time since I played," Crosby said.
Taking to reporters after his matchup against the New York Islanders back on the Pittsburgh Penguins, Crosby was covered with microphones and cameras wanting to know whether he was having an post-concussion symptoms or not, but fortunately, the answer was
in a negative.
According to latest reports, Crosby is feeling better than ever and is certainly optimistic in continuing his multiple point performance in upcoming games as the season progresses.
"We went into games expecting him to get two goals," Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik said. "You probably shouldn't expect that but we kind of were. He was playing that well. And it wasn't just offensively, it was his whole game. It was pretty complete at
that point. (Monday was) one game, and it's tough to expect four points every night, but hopefully he keeps building on that."
The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada native picked up four points (2 goals, 2 assists) in his first matchup against the New York Islanders and it is expected that Crosby will have another amazing season if he can stay healthy and performing like his usual
self.
Just to prove that he was not having problems after his season debut, Crosby also participated in an hour long practice with the Pittsburgh Penguins Tuesday morning, November 22, 2011, at according to latest team reports, he is playing fine without at significant
show of issues.
Obviously, being out for nearly a year has taken a toll on the players stamina and ability to play for a longer duration, but as he continues to practice and play games, taking it one step at a time, Crosby will be back to his normal self in no time, which
is something he certainly wants as soon as possible.
