Pittsburgh Penguins Mike Comrie expects first child with superstar wife Hilary Duff –NHL News Update
Pittsburgh Penguins centre player, Mike Comrie, reached the next level of stardom after marrying long-time girlfriend, better known as a great singer and actress, Hilary Duff, last year. The 30-year-old is now expecting his first child with the Duff, who
announced the news through her official website on Sunday, August 14.
The day was not only special for announcing her pregnancy, but it was also special in terms of it being their first anniversary.
"This weekend, Mike and I are celebrating our one year anniversary", Hilary Duff wrote on her website. "I can't believe it has already been a year. Time really flies when you're having fun"!
Having played the well known role of “Lizzie McGuire” on the Disney Channel along with starring on “Gossip Girl” most recently, Duff has established herself as a well rounded actress, although he has had a number of hit songs during the previous few years
as well.
"We also want to share the exciting news that baby makes three! We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives. Thanks to everyone for the continued love and support throughout the years"! Duff added.
Mike Comrie, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, was drafted as the 91st overall draft pick during the 1999 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft by Edmonton Oilers.
The 30-year-old now has nine years of experience in the major league and in the past few, has faced a gradual decline in performance due to injury related troubles, but was at one time, one of the most reliable players.
He is currently a free agent, since he has not signed on with any team as of yet, including his last season team, Pittsburgh Penguins, as Comrie is currently recovering from a hip injury which caused him participate in only 21 games last season.
Up until now, Comrie has played 589 NHL matchups and boasts a record of 365 points (168 goals, 197 assists).
As soon as the attacking forward is able to recover, it is highly expected that he will return to his 60 point performing self, which could mean that his peak years are still ahead of him.
