Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby, Craig Adams could Miss Tuesday's Meeting -NHL Update
When something reaches that point when you have no hope anymore, there is no point in following it and that is exactly how Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, and union representative, Craig Adams, are feeling like.
It is reported by inside sources that the two just might miss the upcoming and much anticipated meeting between the National Hockey League (NHL) and Players’ Association, an open one unlike the one previously held in the wee hours of Saturday at an undisclosed
location.
There just might be a breakthrough as both sides are on their edges with the 2013 NHLWinter Classic being the latest of tragedies, putting off one of the most looked forward to events of the year between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings.
“But there are a lot of other big issues, too — in the player contracting department,” Adams said, according to triblive.com.
Being depressed about how things have worked out thus far may be one thing, but Crosby is also not sure who has been invited to the meeting in New York on Tuesday and going without prior notice would not be a good idea in his mind. He will be in Pittsburgh
for the time being, attending a Madonna concert.
“You don’t want to read into anything,” Crosby said of the Tuesday meeting.
Crosby is a leading player for the Pittsburgh Penguins, definitely one of the best in the NHL and an integral member of the Players’ Association. He has been quite active in the whole process so far and is certainly looking forward to having the current
deadlock between the two come to an end. His value was so high that it even made foreign leagues apologise for not being able to commit anything to him, which is why he continues to stay in the United States for now.
Drafted as the first overall back in round-one of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Crosby has one of the best records with 609 points (223 goals, 386 assists) in 434 games played up until now. Severe concussions have hindered his progress, but is still looking
forward to getting back control.
