Pittsburgh Penguins’ Sidney Crosby back on the ice with teammates, no set date for comeback -NHL

Pittsburgh Penguins star player and captain, Sidney Crosby, came out on the ice to practice on Monday, January 30, 2012, but after news emerged after his newly found neck injury along with the concussion woes the player is facing at the moment, any confirmed
date of him making a comeback has not been made whatsoever.
Many players termed his comeback extremely crucial for the team if they look to make it anywhere this season, especially in the playoffs and having Evgeni Malkin work day in and day out will not be good for his health, but according to those present, Crosby
was looking much better.
"Physically, he's looked a lot better the last couple of weeks," Pittsburgh defenseman, Brooks Orpik, said as the team practiced for the first time after the All-Star Game Weekend. "He looks a lot more upbeat. And if that's the case, maybe he can put some
of this stuff behind him and move forward without any precaution, I guess. Maybe it was the next hurdle, kind of not knowing (exactly what was wrong). It's just good to see him back."
The former first overall pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins during round-one of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft played only eight games this season with a point total of 12 (2 goals, 10 assists), which is certainly nothing compared to his previous stats of 100 plus
points each season.
Unfortunately, it was in January of 2011 that Crosby faced multiple hits to the head during back-to-back games which ultimately resulted in his season ending concussion and now a neck injury as well, which is believed to have been caused back then.
Since then, his neck injury has healed considerably but it still needs rest along with his reoccurring post-concussion symptoms, keeping the playing off the ice.
Being back on the ice to practice is something which Sidney Crosby feels fortunate about, but when he will be back playing primetime hockey still remains the question to be answered as some consider him to be completely out for the year while others term
it to be temporary.
Developments on Crosby’s health are expected in the upcoming days.
