Pittsburgh Penguins Superstar Sidney Crosby could be heading out soon -NHL Lockout Update
It seems like the request to use Federal Mediators has not had much of an effect on some big name players around the National Hockey League (NHL), as the Post Gazette has reported that Pittsburgh Penguins superstar and captain, Sidney Crosby, is on the verge
of going abroad to continue playing.
Prior to the latest revelations about one of the leading players of the North American hockey league, Crosby was just think about making the move but now, it seems like things and the consideration to do so has gotten a lot more serious.
"You know what? It's a lot more possible right now," Crosby said after a player-organized workout at Southpointe. "I probably hadn't thought about it quite as much as I have the past few days.
"It's definitely been something ... with the way things are looking now, it's not looking too good."
More than two months have passed ever since the lockout kicked off officially on September 15th of this year and nothing has come out of it as of yet that could be termed to be on a progressive note.
At the moment, there are no specific clubs that Sidney Crosby is looking at but could be getting something done with a foreign club in the next couple of days.
Having missed a major chunk of the past two regular seasons along with the fact that this one is hindering his progress as well, Crosby is on the edge when it comes to talking about playing some professional level hockey.
"I don't know, specifically, if I've gotten to that point where I'm looking at [particular] teams, but I think I'm more or less thinking that playing is becoming a little more and more important here, the longer we go," Crosby added. "Especially in my case,
where I've missed so much hockey in the last little bit."
Crosby, a 25-year-old native of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada, has 434 games played to his name up until now and an even better record of 609 points (223 goals, 386 assists) and 401 minutes of penalty time.
Updates should be expected in the next couple of days.
