Pittsburgh Penguins plays host to Montreal Canadiens in their fourth and final meeting
The first game of Saturday will be hosted by the Pittsburgh Penguins as they are up against the Montreal Canadiens at the Consol Energy Center.
This will be the fourth and final meeting between the two teams during the course of the season.
Out of the three games that have taken place so far, the Canadiens won the first two 3-2 and 2-1 respectively while the Penguins won their most recent meeting 5-2.
It was though that the loss of Max Pacioretty would affect the Canadiens a lot but they have come up with some decent performance despite losing one their star players.
Canadiens lost the game against St. Louis Blues and if they want to keep pace with the Northeast Division for the first place then they need to come up with a good performance this time out.
Penguins are ever so exceeding expectations as they lost some of their most important players due to injuries.
They are just four points behind Flyers and a win this time out would give them a chance of not only winning the Division but also the Eastern Conference.
Penguins notched up important points as they won against Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres in their last two games.
Penguins won their last game against Sabres on Tuesday and they were high on confidence during the practice.
In their practice, there were some old players that were guiding the new comers like James Neal so as to absorb the pressure.
Penguins have scored five points in the last three games and are in the fourth position in the Eastern Conference.
The game will be very important as with the absence of Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby, the team needs to until and make sure that they don’t hand the series to the Canadiens.
"You feel it just in general this time of year," Coach Dan Bylsma said, referencing momentum building in the final stretch. "Games start to take on a different tenor, the intensity of the games, meaning of the games, the closeness of the games starts to
build up and we're in that phase right now."
Canadiens have played 68 games during the course of the season out of which they have won 37 games in regulation time, seven games overtime to score a total of 81 points.
Penguins have played 68 games too out of which they have won 39 games in regulation time, eight games in overtime to score 86 points.
Canadiens have come up with some decent performances during the month of March as they have lost only one game and notched up four regulation time wins out of the five games they have played so far.
Their goal keeper Jaroslav Halak has been in top form as he has made 27 saves during his last game.
This is going to be nail biting encounters as both teams look to win the game and score valuable points.
