Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby contemplating Moving Out in scene of Lockout -NHL Update
The Pittsburgh Penguins are really seeing their players go as one of their leading forwards, Evgeni Malkin, made the choice to go and play in the Russian, Kontinental Hockey League, for the next hockey season as they see a lockout coming their way.
Now, according to recent reports, superstar Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, is also thinking about making the change in light of the seemingly limitless lockout that has not made any significant progress over the days since it officially came into effect
on September 15, 2012.
During an interview with local Pittsburgh radio station, 97.3 The Fan, earlier this week, the captain is thinking about it and has not made a final decision as of yet. Some experts have termed this to last about a week, after which the young forward may
announce his signing elsewhere.
"I'll wait and see. I don't have a hard date or anything like that," said Crosby. "I just want to get a feel for how things move along here and hopefully there are some positive talks and some movement, and a sign that things are going to get done here.
But I'll just wait and see how things go.”
"We have enough guys to get some good workouts in here. And if it seems like it's taking a little bit more time, then I'll have to think pretty hard about maybe going to play somewhere until they figure it out."
Obviously, making the decision to go play somewhere else for a full regular season is not an easy one to make as it would force the team to be playing underhanded if the lockout is to end sooner than expected, but Crosby also has to take into consideration
the fact that not playing for a full season could be fatal to his standing as a player.
Crosby was signed on to a huge 12-year, $104,400,000 million contract over the offseason, giving him $12 million the next three seasons following the 2012-2013 and $10.9 million, $10 million, $9 million and $3 million in the remaining seasons.
Updates should be expected in the upcoming days as the captain thinks his decision over.
