Pittsburgh Pirates crushed by Baltimore Orioles 6-12 – MLB Recap
The Pittsburgh Pirates crushed by the Baltimore Orioles 6-12 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Thursday, June 14 at Oriole Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
The Orioles not only won this game, but they also won the series with quite comprehensiveness giving no chance to the Pirates to bounce back in the three-game matchup.
Designated hitter Chris Davis made three important runs for the Orioles and gave them a superb win.
"We've got a lot of guys who can do that. It really gives us versatility in the lineup, Early on, we were pitching really well, winning a lot of close games, Now we're scoring a lot of runs. As of late, the bats have started to heat up and the pitching has
still been there. It's kind of the offense's turn to pull their weight." said Chris Davis told the media later in the game in which he explained in detail about the unity they showed in the entire series which now proved in a wonderful series win for them.

Manager Clint Hurdle said. "The sky's not going to be falling now that we got swept here in Baltimore, We are looking forward to getting out of here, I can tell you that. We got wiped out here.”
Tommy Hunter also gave a helping to his team as he pitched accurate seven innings and only received seven hits. Maintaining his 5.58 ERA, he gave the perfect plat-form to the Orioles who eventually outclassed the Pirates in every department.
On the other hand, the Pirates starter Erik Bedard played a disastrous game as he received seven runs and eight hits in his 3.1 innings of play.
From start to end, the batting offence of the Orioles dominated the Pirates’ pitchers throughout the game.
Catcher Matt Wieters made two important runs and five RBIs on his five at bats. First baseman Mark Reynolds also played a key role in his team’s win as he made two RBIs, four hits and three runs while the right fielder Steve Pearce’s five RBIs made things
impossible for the Pirates in the end as he proved his natural and offensive game as well.
