Who here thinks that the Pittsburgh Pirates are improving. I certainly do. I mean, lets look at their future lineup

1: McCutchen

2: Sanchez

3: McLouth

4: Doumit

5: Adam LaRoche

6: Moss

7: Wilson

8: Andy LaRoche

And Pedro Alvarez who will be up in the Bigs by 2010 (just as long as everything works out)

Rotation

Duke

Snell

Gorzelanny

Karstens

Maholm

Pen:

Capps

Grabow

All they need is a better bullpen, and they can definetly compete in the next two or three years. Who agrees with me?

  1. Their rotation isn't a paradise either. But yes, it seems okay for them

  2. Although they just ended a 10-game losing streak (against mostly playoff hopefuls), the Pirates have made some strides towards improvement. Their lineup today was even more youthful, as both Wilson and Sanchez sat. Tomorrow, Roy Ohlendorf will get his first major league start (was a reliever before) and the Bucs plan to give him 4-5 starts the rest of the month. The team has one of the lowest  average age in MLB. Hopefully they will develop within the next 2-3 years.

  3. I agree. I think everyone agrees. The whole point of the trades they made (Giving up Nady, Bay, etc...) was to get prospects. They're going to soon be the TB Rays- a really young, yet talented, ball club.

  4. It's hard to get any worse. The problem w/ the Pirates is as soon as they get someone worth anything they have a fire sale & unload them.

I live in Indiana & their minor league team is in Indy

  5. Does it matter? They still have to deal with Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Louis.

  6. well if improving is losing 7 strait then yes they are
