Pittsburgh Steelers’ QB Big Ben to be off to Scotland, Ireland to feed golf passion-NFL News
Pittsburgh Steelers’ veteran quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, is on a different course nowadays, looking to utilise his offseason free time to fulfil his ambitions for the sport of golf.
Roethlisberger, who is also known as Big Ben in the National Football League (NFL), is well known for his love for the game of golf and he often spends his spare time playing it in any competition or an informal setting to fulfil his ambition.
So far he has mostly played on the local golf courses in the United States to feed his dream of playing golf on rather regular basis.
This year he has opted to go where they believe the game was born and bred, Scotland, the northern semi-independent territory of the United Kingdom.
Scotland is known for its lush green landscape and is rich in bounty of other natural treasures, mountains, deep sea, oil-filled North Sea, and increasingly becoming a multicultural society.
Although Ben is turning to the place to fulfil his golf dream, he is not going to be alone there. The place attracts million of visitors from all over the world every year.
The particular reputable point for the nation is its beautiful golf fields, elegantly and impressively designed courses encircled by old trees and fresh plants and flowers. It is a golf paradise on earth, dubbed as Mecca of the game.
St. Andrews is the specific place for attraction of golfers from all over the world, and why it shouldn’t be when the entire golf community agrees on it to be the birthplace of the sport.
Ben says of the opportunity to play golf in Scotland:
"I've played a lot of great golf courses (in the United States), but I've never played in Ireland or Scotland before That's the Mecca of golf."
Ben, who is expected to be hosted by his friends in Scotland, will also be heading to Ireland, a country similar to the demography of Scotland and equally rich in natural beauty.
The nation is also well known for lush green golf courses, which attract fulltime professional and part-time amateur golfers from all corners of the globe.
Roethlisberger is expected to play for 12 rounds in maximum 10 days, while availing opportunities to meet his friends and fans.
At the moment, the player is focused on the ongoing organised team activities (OTAs), apparently frustrated with the approach of new offensive coordinator, Todd Haley.
