Pittsburgh Steelers face Big Ben’s injury ahead of Baltimore Ravens game – NFL News
The Pittsburgh Steelers are mostly likely to be hit by a serious blow just ahead of one of their important games versus arch rivals the Baltimore Ravens as their offence leader quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s status has been updated to be questionable.
Although the team is yet to confirm it officially, some sections of media have cited people privy to the situation that the QB might well be out of the side for a quite few games given the shoulder injury he suffered on Monday night appears to be a serious
one.
Some reports said that Ben’s injury is a broken shoulder and if it happens to be a case, the player might need at least a month to heal and rehab again.
Coach Mike Tomlin had earlier speculated that the injury did not seem to be serious but since the player was shifted to a hospital for a thorough inspection it leads to an otherwise impression.
Now with more reports around prospects of serious injury emerging, the Steelers are in an uncertain position and affected in shorter to mid run. Ben is crucial member of the Steelers offence and has been performing remarkably well most recently.
People around Big Ben including his agent has not said anything, and while the team awaits results of reports from the hospital.
The coach soon after the player was shifted to the hospital said they expected the reports coming from the hospital by mid week after which they would be able to disclose exact nature and level of the offence leader’s injury.
Big Ben suffered the injury against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was made to hit the surface by the Chiefs’ defenders in the third quarter. He walked on the sidelines for initial inspection and then was examined again, in the locker room.
Later, he was taken to the local hospital for a detailed inspection of the injury.
The Steelers are this week facing the Ravens in first encounter of this season. The opponents have a better record against the Steelers and injury like Ben’s does not help the Steelers’ cause.
