Pittsburgh Steelers favourites against Cleveland Browns for Thursday game – NFL Preview Week 14
Having lost 10-24 to Baltimore Ravens last Sunday the Cleveland Browns face another daunting task of survival and may be pulling off an upset against the Pittsburgh Steelers when the two teams play each other at Heinz Field stadium
in Pittsburgh on Thursday night.
It is widely being seen that it will be all too easy for the Steelers to thrash Browns in one of their crucial ties. Both the history of games between the two and recent record of the Steelers go against the Browns.
The Steelers have won 14 of the total 15 matches the Steelers and Browns played in between them. This included seven wins in row at Heinz Field stadium since their 13-33 loss to Browns in 2003. In the last season (2010) the Steelers
thrashed the Browns 69-19 in two games they had between them.
Pittsburgh's recent record against other teams also speaks of their potential. They have won eight of the last nine games they played since losing to the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the season.
In their last couple of matches the Steelers have managed to keep their oppositions to almost a single digit score, proving their strong defences.
The Ravens are the only side to have beaten the Steelers twice in the current season. They are tied atop 9-3 in the American Football Conference (AFC) north division but hold the tie breaker advantage over them.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns have played 12 games each in current National Football League (NFL) season. The Pittsburgh Steelers have won nine and lost three. They lost one game at Heinz Field and two on road. Their
home wins are five while their road victories stay four.
The Cleveland Browns' home and road games losses are four games each while their home wins are three and road victory only one.
This is first of the two games that the Pittsburgh Steelers will play against the Cleveland Browns this season. They will be finishing their season at Cleveland. They have to play total four more games to end current NFL season.
Their rest of the games are one each against San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams.
Given the stature of these teams it is expected that the Steelers are set to consolidate their lead further. However to win the division will not be easy for them. They will have to wait and see the performance of their archrivals
the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens too have four more games to go and their oppositions are described of the same rating on NFL as the Steelers'. Both teams seems holding a competitive edge over each other at present and stand equal chances of going past
each other to clinch the division.
