Pittsburgh Steelers mum as LB James Harrison says ready vs New York Jets – NFL News
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has claimed he will play this Sunday's game against the New York Jets but there is no independent confirmation of the reported talk by the player, which leaves the prospects of his comeback officially unconfirmed
yet.
It is hard to say a final word about James' return from a minor knee procedure this weekend given the player had called himself a game-time decision for the season opener versus the Denver Broncos but was made to watch the entire game from the sidelines.
As a matter of fact, he had generated big hype by disclosing arrangement of a media call past Friday, which never happened and the team did not confirm him for the game until very end, and he had to be left out of final selection of the squad.
Some sections of media have cited a similar claim by the player now that he is going to be available for the game against the Jets. The reports have laid a claim that earlier coach Mike Tomlin had hinted at the linebacker’s return by the weekend.
The reports are neither confirmed nor denied officially by any member of the Steelers organisation and the entire talk of recovery and readiness to play is the player’s side story.
It is pertinent to note here that Harrison has missed substantial training this week, which gives birth to fears that he is still not hundred percent. There is no other reason why the team should not include a player like him.
As far as official version is concerned, the team has not even updated his recovery status or what exactly is the hurdle in his way to make it to the team.
Some independent reports have confirmed that the player feels irritation in the operated knee, which is bothering and preventing him to move freely. The player has not confirmed these reports or whether he has any particular problem in the movement but he
insists he is ready and raring to return to action.
Although Harrison’s selection looks very difficult, some commentators are optimistic the Steelers might do so but for shorter slots.
