Pittsburgh Steelers need to sort out offence under QB Big Ben to stand Super Bowl winning chance -NFL News
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been pointed out at the need of coming up with a solution for their offensive line-up under their star quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, and if they are successful in doing so, they have as much potential of winning the next Super
Bowl as the New York Giants.
American football commentators and analysts believe that Steelers is a venerable and smart organisation like Giants and it needs to solve its offence problems, especially at the running back positions, to perform equally well.
They said that Giants' receivers and running backs played a great role to boost the performance of their QB, Eli Manning, and if Steelers are able to take an inspiration from Giants and proactively work on igniting their attack line led by Big Ben, they
stand chances of winning Super Bowl crown in the future.
Big Ben, a veteran in his game stature and two-time Super Bowl winner, is unable excel in his performance because of the lack of support from their running back, who ranks 46th on the league with an average of 1.6 yards per game.
Steelers recently let go their offensive coach, Bruce Arians, apparently making him a scapegoat of all the problems of their offence, and according to commentators, this is set to aggravate their problems, as his departure has left Big Ben with no options
of seeking a solution for the offence line under him.
They said that the injury of high sprain ankle to Big Ben was not a serious problem and did not stand any chance hurting the performance of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The actual problem is their offence line beyond their QB, that matters most and its consistent failing has affected the team’s chance of better record.
Big Ben’s fitness had become an issue in the later par of the 2011 National Football League (NFL) regular season and controversy of his chances of playing for the team had emerged with figure-pointing at their coach, Mike Tomlin, of being responsible for
the situation.
It later cooled down and the player participated in a couple of games with his performance seen deteriorating considerably.
Later, the offensive coach had come under criticism from within the team and he was let go after end of Steelers 2011 run. Ben is reported to be not happy over Arians leaving the Pittsburgh.
Steelers finished the 2011 NFL regular season atop the American Football Conference (AFC) North division, and lose the chance for winning of the division title because of the tie breaker advantage that went to their rivals, the Baltimore Ravens.
Their 2011 run was ended with their loss of wild-card game to the Denver Broncos, and many football commentators believe that the performance was below the mark of their potential and stature.
