Pittsburgh Steelers not 100% on his chances to play Browns game this Sunday – NFL News
Almost a day left to their final game of the season and the Pittsburgh Steelers star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he was still uncertain about his chances to play this Sunday.
In one of their most crucial tie the Steelers are playing the Cleveland Browns on the weekend and the uncertainty surrounding Roethlisberger the Big Ben participation may not serve well into their hopes for a must win.
Ben who again joined his teammates for practice on Thursday said that he would see if could handle the pain in his injured ankle and play.
"As long as I can deal with pain, I'll be out there," Roethlisberger said Thursday. "I don't want to let the guys down, so I'll do what I can to be out there."
Big Ben injured his ankle on December 8 and has been nursing his injury since then. He however managed to play in the Steelers game against the San Francisco 49ers but apparently looked uncomfortable with his plays. His overall performance remained almost
insignificant in the game that was lost by his team.
After missing his last game, which was the Steelers against St. Louis Rams, he expressed hopes for joining in the team in their last game of current season of the National Football League (NFL).
Despite his apparent lack of confidence on his chances for the game the team’s offensive coach Bruce Arians said he was very much confident that Ben will available for the weekend.
"I want him out there but not at the risk of injuring himself," Arians said. "If he can't move around and get out of the way, there's no sense in getting him out there."
There was also some sort of assurance from Ben amid the Arians hopes that he would not let down his teammates and will play the Browns tie if he could manage the pain in his ankle.
In case Ben is not fit for their next game, the Steelers will give another chance to Charlie Batch who had performed well in the last game and was instrumental in their win over the Rams last week.
Batch too attended all practice sessions on past week but was aware of the Big Ben’s chances for making it to the next game. However, after the latest statement from Ben he might be getting ready to play for his side.
He has already spoken of his readiness to replace Roethlisberger at any point of the game if he does not feel hundred per cent in his fitness.
