Pittsburgh Steelers to be comfortable with offence transition, says OC Todd Haley -NFL News
Pittsburgh Steelers’ new offensive coordinator, Todd Haley, shows little remorse over the shift in the team’s offence scheme, and says he has plenty of time to make the players comfortable with his new formula.
It was for the first time on Wednesday, June 06, that Haley addressed the media since his arrival in the city after replacing the team’s former offensive coordinator, Bruce Arians.
He looked very much at his usual ease, smiling and emphasising the changes he has introduced or will implement in Steelers' offence, which more or less, had remained in line with a similar strategy during respective tenures of two former
offensive coaches.
Todd said:
"I don't flip that switch until a little later. In training camp, we'll pick it up a notch."
He added:
“You use all this time. It will be training camp and then it will be the real preseason games before anybody is totally comfortable."
The coach was specifically asked about the attitude of the star quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, who apparently is not happy about the workout strategy and scheme of the new coach.
In one of his remarks after his first training session in organised team activities (OTAs), Ben had dubbed Haley’s approach to the one used for learning a new language.

According to the QB, Steelers at end of the first day had learned equivalent to saying ‘Hello.’
Big Ben was absent from the team’s voluntary workout activity on Wednesday before Haley’s meeting with reporters.
Interestingly, the offensive coach himself has not seen any major issue in this matter.
He said:
"I haven't sensed any of that concern, at least me personally. He's in here, he's working hard. He's into it-even the days when he hasn't practiced, he's over my shoulder, talking, commenting, discussing."
It may be surprising for Steelers and particularly for Ben that Haley is more determined to enforce his offensive scheme more than ever.
They can only hope that the relationship between the quarterback and the coach thrives on good terms.
It is not just Haley’s arrival, Roethlisberger is not a happy man since Arians was let go in a controversial manner.
