Pixel to Picture Size?

I have a picture that is 3304(height)x3456(width) for a project

that I want to fit on a poster of roughly 10 1/2x22in.

Will the image be too big or too small for the poster?

If so, how much would I need to enlarge/decrease the image?

Also, how many pages will it come out in?

  1. your image would make a print 16.5x17.28 using the 200 pixels per inch of print ratio. However, using a RIP printing program (Google RIP) a much larger print could be made. My 6.2Mp camera has made prints as large as 16x20 and 20x24 on my wide format Epson 7600 printer.

To make your print, 10x22 you will have to crop your image in order to have it fit this ratio aspect. Again, a 12x24 of a Red Tail Hawk shot over head as she looked down at me has been made and it now graces a galleries wall here in Tucson.

On a 13 inch wide printer using roll paper this could be done with 1 piece of paper. Qimage is a good RIP program for printers and fairly easy to use. http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/

Also dont get in a furry fit over - DPI - Dots Per Inch - and read The Myth of DPI - here at - http://www.rideau-info.com/photos/index....

Your image, once cropped to the proper ratio, would work good for your idea.

  2. Hi

Your image, if it is 300 dpi, will fit on a 11.5" x 11"

If the pic is 150 dpi, it will be 23 x 22"

In either case, that image will always end up square more than rectangular.
