Piyathida Chaiyapan to participate in Jamie Farr Toledo Classic qualifier on August 6
Thai Piyathida Chaiyapan is going to participate in the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic qualifier in a bid to find a spot in the tournament set to start from August 9-12, at Highland Meadows Golf Club, Ohio.
The qualifier for the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic will take place on August 6, with a number of ambitious golfers seeking to make it to the next level.
Chaiyapan rose to fame a few months back, as she played with the Rockets in 2009-11. Her performance was nothing short of amazing as she helped the team display a good performance.
The Thai star is known for her good putting skills as she has been training hard to further improve her game. Now, with the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic set to begin next week, the young golfer is gearing up to
put her skills to the real test.
Analysts said that Chaiyapan has what it takes to trouble contenders in the qualifier, and she is expected to make a name for herself once she finds a spot in the LPGA (Ladies professional Golf Association)
event.
Speaking to the media about what it feels like to have an opportunity to qualify for the tournament, former UT player said that she is more than happy to find this chance, and will try to do her best to meet
her fans’ expectations.
Toledo Head Coach, Nicole Hollingsworth said that he is confident that the qualifier will help the officials gain plenty of benefits.
“Having a member of our program participate in this qualifier is one of the highlights of the year for us and a very memorable experience for our student-athletes,” Hollingsworth said. “We’re very thankful
for the tremendous support tournament director Judd Silverman has provided to our program”.
Chaiyapan, who is as ambitious to play at the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012 as any other professional LPGA player, has been working hard this season and if she qualifies for the tournament scheduled for August
9-12, she can set her goals for the future.
The LPGA event is going to feature a pretty solid field that will include most of the big names in women’s golf. Some of the main contenders include defending champion Na Yeon Choi, Cristie Kerr, Paula Creamer,
Laura Davies, Stacy Lewis and current world number one Yani Tseng.
