The Bayern Munich striker is keen to take his chances next season and is unconcerned over the competition for the starting role.
The Bavarian giants have as many as three strikers for next season and each player is a proven performer. The side has Mario Gomez, Mario Mandzukic and Claudio Pizarro in their ranks, fighting for one place in the starting XI.
Obviously, Gomez will be the first choice for Jupp Heynckes, given the attacker’s sensational form in the last two years for the club, but there are chances of the manager playing two strikers when the next campaign starts.
Bayern bought Mandzukic and Pizarro from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 and Werder Bremen respectively with the likes of Ivica OIic and Nils Petersen moving to the other side. The side had limited options in attack last term but there will be immense
competition upfront in the upcoming campaign.
Pizarro claimed that he is unperturbed with the club’s decision to but Mario Mandzukic this summer and is happy that the side has strengthened before the season starts. He admitted that competition is good for players and brings
the best out of them.
The former Bremen man is confident that all three players will have a good chance to prove themselves and is sure that the manager will bring the best out of them.
“I would find it good if a fourth striker joined us. It is a long season and unexpected things always happen. Therefore, it is important that we have enough players in every position so that we can compensate. We all have enough
quality and I am sure that all three of us will get some of the action,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The striker added that he is fully fit for the next season and that he has left his injury woes behind him. He claimed that he is training hard and is keen to prove his point at Bayern.
“I am 33 now and I have to pay more attention to myself, but I feel like I will be playing for a long time yet. Especially now I have overcome my (injury) problems, I feel quicker and sharper than for a long time,” he concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Pizarro-c9324 had an amazing season with Werder Bremen last term as he scored 18 times in 29 appearances.
