Question:

Pizza Hut and Poor Service?

I went to the pizza hut today to eat their beffet. I showed up early like at 11:30 to beat the crowd.

They had no pizza so I went through the salad bar. When I'm eating I can over hear them talking about the school busses that are coming. Well 4 school busses show up at once and over 100 High School students come in.

They get 4 pizza up and you could imagine how fast 100 kids go through 4 pizzas. I got in line and got a couple of pizzas but didn't want to fight the traffic for anymore.

There was literally 80 kids waiting in line with plates waiting for them to bring more pizzas up.

The problem I have is that they knew these kids were coming and they were not prepared for them.

When I paid my money she asked if I got any food, I said I got some but wasn't going to fight the crowd for another piece of pizza, I've got places to go. She didn't seam to care. So I mentioned you didn't seem very prepared for the crowd, she kind of just shrugged her shouleders.

  1. are you serious!?

you have got a h**l of a life if this is the c**p you're worried about

  2. Dude, it's Pizza Hut. Let it go.

  3. bad service? it's a buffet. you serve yourself. that's the very core of the concept of buffet.

and how would you have gone about catering to 100+ highschool students? maybe they didn't have much warning. maybe it's just guaranteed to be chaos whether they get warning or not.

you tried to beat the crowd, and your plan didn't work. it's not the restaurant's fault. you said you didn't want to "fight the crowd" for pizza. that's your prerogative. but what do you want the employees to do? wait in line with your plate for you? sorry, but i can't stand guests who enter an eating establishment with the attitude that they're the only ones eating out that day, and get miffed when they have to "deal with" other paying customers. get over it.

she didn't seem to care? why should she? you didn't get as much food as you wanted, because you weren't willing to go through the trouble of getting in a long buffet line. she didn't care, and nobody else does either.

take your experience and learn from it. next time you hear servers talking about school busses coming, just take your business elsewhere. i doubt you'll be missed.

OF course you can complain and since Pizza Hut is such a big chain, I would expect to refund your lunch, but through gift cards.

Perhaps they only had a 15 minute warning about the 100 kids?  It doesn't really matter, this is a poor experience worth complaining about.

  5. Ugh, I've worked in restaurants, and you can NEVER be prepared for that many kids! Maybe they booked it early and there wasn't really time to prepare.

It's unfortunate that you had to go there on a day when all the kids came, but oh well, what can you do. I'm sure the girl who rang you up had no control over it, so that's why she didn't seem to care. You should have asked to talk to a manager if you are that concerned.

  6. I work in retail as well and you are suppose to give the best service you can remember it's the customers that pay your pay check also there is a 800 number that you can call it does not matter if it is pizza hut or some high class place you paid your money you deserve better service just remember that just like you give bad reports you should give good ones as will and make sure you have a name to go with your complaint call the store and ask for the 800 number

  7. pizza hut has lots of staff but slow crappy service I think you should eat some were else.

  8. let me be honest.....SHE DIDNT CARE! and i dont care either. complainy customers like you make me want to puke because i have to work twice as hard just to satisfy your stupid ***. please get a life a stop expecting five-star hotel service from PIZZA HUT!

  9. YES GET THE STORE NUMBER...LIKE GO TO PIZZA HUTS MAIN SITE...PUT IN THE ZIPCODE WHERE YOU WHERE..GET THE STORE NUMBER BY CALLING THERE...EMAIL PIZZA HUT AND THEY WILL MOST LIKELY SEND YOU COUPONS OR SOMETHING..I DO IT ALL THE TIME WHEN EVER I HAVE POOR SERVICE.

  10. i'd call the pizza hut you went to first thing tomorrow before they open. ask for the manager, when you get that mgr on the phone ask for the store #, then ask what they're boss' name is.they'll then ask you what happened.  they will probably put your name on some list to come in for a free pizza or come in for a gift card(insist on one). once you get that meal or card shoot off an email to the company telling about your experience. then you'll probably get another gift card. i say go for it. you have nothing to lose and a couple of meals to gain......good luck!
