Question:

Pizza close to Chicago Airport?

I'm going to NYC next month, and I have a three hour layover in O'Hare National Airport. I think it'd be really cool to have real Chicago-style pizza and and real New York-style pizza in the same day. What's the closest, and highest quality, pizzeria within walking distance of O'Hare? Or close enough to get a taxi, pick up a slice, get a taxi back, and make it back in time to board our flight?

  1. I would also go to mapquest, but it might be fun to have both Chicago style pizza, and New York Style Pizza, I just can't think of pizza places that are near O'Hare, Plus I don't think Connie's, Lou Malnati's, or Home Run Inn, or at least I haven't seen neither of those places have a location in the city of Rosemont. So you want to have real Chicago Style Pizza, and real New York Style Pizza in the same day, so you might not be looking at places like Pizza Hut, or Dominio's. If you can plan this all out, and still get back for your flight to New York, and you do have a month, I will check out Mapquest for pizza places that could be in walking distance, or where you can grab a cab, even through a cab will cost you more money, then if you walk both places. Plus I know Harry Caray's of Rosemont is there, but of course the only one, that as far as I am aware of, that serves pizza is the one next door to Wrigley Field, and that is not in walking distance.

  2. I'll bet there is a Chicago Pizza place at O'Hare.  I have not been there for a few years, but I know Midway airport has a few pizza places, so I'm sure O'hare does as well.

  3. Try this site. I always use it for stuff such as this.

  4. girodanos pizza is by the airport i think, i live in peoria and i want to live in chicago because that pizza is so amazing

  5. I was just in the O'Hare airport, and they now have a Romano's Macaroni Grill inside the airport terminal.  I don't know if it's real Chicago-style pizza, but I had their Margherita Pizza and it was delicious!

  6. I would try city search, Uno's in Chicago has some of the best deep dish pizza.

  7. I agree with Rene, at least the closest place. Down town is more than 10 miles away. Or ask at the airport.

  8. use a GPS or use map quest

    or something like that.

I am not familiar with that

area so I can't really help you.

  9. You MUST go to Barnaby's in Desplaines... it's about 5 minutes from the airport, but you really must take a taxi. The way the airport is set up nothing is really "within walkind distance"...

Everyone I've ever taken there has loved their pizza... it's well worth the trip. Service is pretty fast (although you expect Fridays & Saturdays to be busier of course) so you should have enough time.

    Enjoy!!

  10. Honestly, you don't have time to get away from the airport have a meal and get back in through security.

Sorry, but the traffic there is too crazy and you would hate to miss your flight.

Pick a place in the airport.

  11. There is a Giordano's (real Chicago-style pizza) right across the street from the Hyatt O'Hare.

  12. use a GPS or use map quest

  13. I live in Chicago and work by O'Hare in Rosemont.

Also, I fly at least 10x a year and there are no good pizza places in the airport, I mean they have pizza, but it's not good.

You'll have to take a cab to a place, as there is nothing within walking distance of the airport.

My office building is across from the Giordano's in Rosemont.  I've taken a cab from O'hare to work before and it was around $10.  It is the closet place to get really great pizza, deep dish Chicago style.

Most cabbies will know where it is, but Giordano's is on the corner of River Rd. and Higgins.

  14. Ask the cabby to take you to the nearest Giradono's. The best in the city. There's one near there and you should be able to make the layover.
