Pizza Hut used to be the best, then they changed something in the crust that made it way too sweet.

Domino's has been worthless for years.  The smell alone in the back of the restaurant (I worked there for about three weeks) was enough to make me quit, and the taste of the pizza was at least as bad as the smell.

Papa John's has great toppings, but their pizza sauce tastes like it came out of a can.  I don't doubt it does, Pizza Hut and Domino's most likely do the same thing.  It saves money, and is better for storage.  But Papa John's sauce takes on the tin flavoring of the can itself, both Pizza Hut and Domino's pizza sauce does not.

My new favorite now that Pizza Hut has gone downhill is a local place called Wedgy's.  Its in upstate South Carolina.  Great sauce, better than everyone else's.  Toppings aren't as good as Papa John's, but close.  And the crust is awesome.

Of all the national choices, Papa John's wins with Pizza Hut coming in a distant second now.  So sad that they changed the crust, they were freakin' awesome back in the day; now they are barely better than Domino's.

Depends what I am in the mood for. I like Pizza Hut's pan crust better than Dominos, as well as Pizza Hut's thin crust. However, if I'm in the mood for a hand-tossed style pizza (Dominos standard) I prefer Dominos.
