The former head coach of the Pescara outfit has gone on to comment on the balance within the team, as well as discussing the impressive future at the capital outfit.
AS Roma have finally picked pace and started looking like an outfit that would be able to cause problems to the Serie A. Zeman came at the club under great hype and the promise of enticing football and this meant that there was a lot of positive media at the start of their campaign, after a summer full of tabloids hailing AS Roma to go for the Scudetto.
Zdenek Zeman also talked up the chances of his team to beat Juventus to the title, and he had a war of words against the reigning Serie A champions. Many of the champion’s personnel were under investigation for the Scommessopoli controversy, and Zeman let know his feelings for the Turin giants on a number of occasions. This escalated the situation, and drove focus to their potential as Scudetto contenders. This war of words might have been a little premature on the end of the experienced head coach, as his team was not able to show the promise that they had hoped for before the start of the season.
This has created a rift within the team as well, as the vice-captain of the Giallorossi outfit was quoted to have said that the talks of Roma becoming champions were too premature. De Rossi and Zeman have not had the best of relationships and this is evident from the outbreak in the media and below par performances of the Italian powerhouse.
While commenting on balance within the team, Zeman remarked on the importance of Totti and on the importance of the team performing to the best of their abilities. He replied:
