place in order of shortest to longest X-F bond for SiF4, N2F2, IF5

how can you find out which one is the shortest or the longest..? please explain..

How much energy(KJ) is required to remove all of the valence e- in one mol of silicon atoms?

i know i will have to start with 1 mole of Si

then where can i get the energy? please explain..

  1. You want to be able to predict the bond length, or you just want to look up the bond lengths?  The bond length is the distance between nuclei.  The larger the X atom, the greater the distance between the nuclei.

I would rank them shortest to longest as N-F, Si-F, I-F

For the energy needed to remove the four valence electrons, you need to sum the ionizations energies for the 1st through the 4th electrons of Si.
