MY WIFE AND I ARE MOVING TO OTTAWA, AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR A ROOM WITH BATH FOR A SHORT TIME (1-2 MONTHS), WE HAVE A SMALL DOG VERY QUIET AND TRAINED THAT GOES WITH US, I AM ATTENDING:

Hi there.

Here is a link to Ottawa sublets.  Personally, I think that would be one of your best bets, since you're not getting into anything long-term and the places are usually lower in rent, and larger than rooms.

You did not mention how much you can afford to pay for rent. Laurier Avenue is right downtown and that is an expensive part of town.

You can try http://www.mls.ca or type the words "place to rent in Ottawa, Ontario" into Google's search bar and see what comes up.
