Place to stay with the kids in door county?

Question

Hi we have two kids and we would like to go somewhere in door county over the weekend. I 've heard a lot of nice things about Door County and we would like to go and visit. But we have 2 kids and i don't know what would be good place to stay and have some fun woith a kids too. If anyone knows anything please give me some answers. If you know some other place insted of Door County that would be nice to go with a kids and also relaxe i would really appriciate. We live in chicago. Thank you ...

The Landmark Resort.  When I was younger, my parents would take my brothers and I there.  It's right on the water and in the woods.  It's very beautiful, but there's plenty for kids to do.  And if you drive around, I know there's a playground right by the water somewhere (sorry, it's been quite a long time since I've been up there) and various restaurants and such that are family friendly.

If you camp, Peninsula State Park is great and has nice beaches and good fishing.

We usually rented a cabin in Fish Creek which is at the south entrance to the park.  Our 3 kids loved it there.  We had a nice boat and they all learned to water-ski at the big bay in the park.  

Or you can call the Washington Island Chamber of Commerce and rent a place, or camp, on the Island.  It has beaches and other interesting places for young and old.

If your talking about Wisconsin. Take them to one of the campgrounds. Always more fun than a hotel and cheaper. I'd check online and see if the one opened up yet with a water slide. Heard they were going to.  If not get one with a pool.
